Nick Ventra pitched the game of his life, shutting out the Sun Dogs. He scattered 5
hits, while striking out 5. Great job Nick! Cliff Quick started out the scoring in
the first getting to 2nd on a 2-base error. Sean Alvord drove him to 3rd with a single.
Cliff scored on a wild pitch. In the 4th a single by Brandon Garza, followed by an RBI
double by Sean Alvord scored the 2nd run. The final 2 runs were scored in the 6th on a
walk by Brandon Garza followed by a 2-run Home Run by Sean Alvord.

This time it was Cliff Quick's turn to have a spectacular pitching performance. Cliff
had a no-hitter against the Diablos, striking out 3. Cliff Quick got the scoring started
out in the 1st by getting a single. Brandon Garza singled him to third, where Cliff
scored on a passed ball. In the 2nd, Jesse Swayze and Patrick Stone walked. Raul Rodriguez
doubled in Jesse. Nick Ventra singled in Patrick. Cliff reached on an error scoring Raul.
Brandon Garza was hit by a pitch. Sean Alvord singled in Nick and Cliff. In the 3rd, Patrick
reached on an error, Raul singled him to 3rd. Nick walked to load the bases. Cliff walked
to force in Patrick. Brandon Garza flew out to center scoring Nick and finally Sean Alvord
hit a 3-run Home Run to finish the scoring.

Another outstanding pitching performance. This time it was Cameron Taylor pitching 4
strong innings giving up only 1 run, while striking out 6. Jake Whitaker finished up
pitching 2 scoreless innings and striking out 4. Offensively, in the 2nd Peter Vegos
singled, followed by a passed ball and stolen base. He scored on Patrick Stone's ground
out. In the sixth tied 1-1, Brandon Garza doubled, followed by a walk-off 2-run Home
Run by Sean Alvord.

With our ace on the mound, we had high hopes of making it to the championship game.
Brandon Garza pitched a great game giving up only 1 earned run, while striking out
12. Unfortunately the defense was not strong for this game. The Diablos held them
scoreless until 1 out in the 6th inning when Jesse Swayze singled. Brandon Garza
flew out. Then Sean Alvord hit a 2-run Home Run to tie the game. Unfortunately, the
Diablos scored 1 in the 7th on 4 errors to win the game.
